2017 Dacia Duster

 

First model of Duster crossover, made from cooperation of French car maker Renault and Romanian company Dacia, was released in 2010. Ever since, its sales numbers are rising, and major success happened in 2013, when SUV took one of the top places among best selling crossovers. However, don’t be confused if you see same model under Renault name, since two companies are sharing its name. Compact SUV was sold in certain markets and countries, and 2017 Dacia Duster could make larger presence. Since model from 2013 suffered larger facelift, new vehicle is not going to have significant changes, but rather small refreshment.

Major change on the 2017 Dacia Duster is going to be overall length. New model gets 15 cm of wheelbase. This can lead to further changes, and one of them is third row of seats in the cabin. Although information is not confirmed yet, Dacia spokesmen didn’t deny it. The Dacia Duster is going to be built on the same platform as last model. It is Renault Duster Oroch concept. That means crossover will use 18-inch wheels, protective mouldings on the side of the body and rich infotainment system, including multimedia screen. Greatest refreshment could be new instrument panel with steering wheel controls for Bluetooth and audio system.


2017 Dacia Duster engine
Powertrain of this crossover will be carried over from its predecessor. Under the hood of the 2017 Dacia Duster is a 2.0-l inline-four drivetrain. Power is sent through 4-speed auto gearbox to front wheels by default. There are three driving modes available: 2WD, Auto and Lock. 

Output of this combination is 135 hp and 195 Nm (145 lb-ft) of torque. All wheel drive is also possibility and it will boost off-road capabilities. New Dacia Duster should reach 60 mph in 10 seconds, while top speed is around 180 km/h (110 mph). There is no information about fuel economy, but experts think same rate will be kept.

New 2017 Dacia Duster will be available from 12,000 euro, and with different driving mode and AWD it raises to €15,000. Last model as Dacia Duster was available only in certain huge markets, such as India, Russia and South Africa. New model is expected to reach more buyers.
