Crisp and compact on the outside, very spacious and versatile on the inside with trendy two-tone paintwork and a cool SUV look - that is the all-new Opel Crossland X. This versatile urban crossover model (Crossover Utility Vehicle) is the second member of the Opel X family in the B-segment where it joins the sporty bestseller, the Mokka X. The larger Grandland X will be launched in the compact class (C-segment) later this year. Opel thus kicks off the product offensive "7 in 17", which will see seven new models launched in 2017, with two X-newcomers that bring together the best of different worlds: Cars with the bold design, the virtues of a SUV and the attributes facilitating an urban lifestyle. They are the Opel models with the certain X-tra.

Compared with the Opel Mokka X, which comes with optional four-wheel drive for occasional off-road outing, the new Opel Crossland X is predestined for urban areas with its crisp exterior dimensions while also being perfectly suitable for a shopping spree at the organic farm shop or for a holiday trip to Tuscany. With a length of 4.21 meters, the new Crossland X is 16 centimeters shorter than an Astra while at the same time 10 centimeters higher. The occupants can thus enjoy the elevated seating position and resulting excellent overview. Buyers looking for an even better experience can improve the feeling of space even further with the optional panoramic glass roof.

Furthermore, the newcomer offers outstanding innovations that make every day driving safer, more comfortable and easier. Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) with full LED headlights, head up display and the 180-degree Panoramic Rear View Camera along with Advanced Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert with pedestrian detection and Automatic Emergency Braking, Driver Drowsiness System, Lane Keep Assist, Speed Sign Recognition and Side Blind Spot Alert are just some examples. The new Crossland X also comes with Opel-typical outstanding connectivity thanks to Opel OnStar as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible IntelliLink infotainment technology including up to 8-inch large color touchscreens.

This Opel is simply electrifying: The German carmaker is revolutionizing electro-mobility with its battery electric Ampera-e at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. With its range of more than 500 kilometers (electric range, measured based on NEDC test cycle in kilometers: >500, preliminary figures) the exhibition star outperforms its closest segment rival currently on the road by at least 100 kilometers.

"With the new Ampera-e, we continue the largest model offensive in Opel's history," says Opel CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann. "The Ampera-e with its outstanding range makes electric mobility fully feasible for everyday use and also lots of fun."

While the NEDC cycle is important to create comparability, the test cycle does not truly reflect everyday reality. In real world, factors such as road characteristics, weather conditions, driving style or additional load influence the range. Opel therefore also tested the Ampera-e approximated to the speed profile defined in the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure) driving cycle (shortened test procedure).

The WLTP results are closer to real driving behavior. And the Opel Ampera-e also delivers here: Based on the development test, the engineers estimate the combined WLTP range to be more than 380 kilometers. Naturally, the range in everyday use will vary and depends on personal driving behavior and on external factors.

Opel Karl Rocks, which is set to celebrate its world premiere at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, bears a strong resemblance to a true SUV and shares many virtues connected with this vehicle class such as an elevated seating position that enables better visibility and easier access to the cabin or an outstanding connectivity offer. 

Furthermore, the new Opel Karl Rocks maintains the unquestionable practicality of the Opel Karl with five doors, five seats, compact dimensions and a maximum trunk space over 1,000 liters up to the roof making it the ideal vehicle for a broad audience of city dwellers. Like Karl, the rocking version will thus be big on everything - except size and price.

Clever design tweaks set the Opel Karl Rocks, available for order from the end of 2016, apart from most of its A-segment rivals and in fact also from its tamer sibling. The functional silver roof rails, rugged front and rear bumpers with integrated skid pads (the former also including fog light), front and rear wheelhouse moldings and unique 15-inch bi-color look alloy wheels blend in perfectly with typical Opel design cues such as the Opel blade that sweeps dynamically up towards the rear. Combined with the sloping roofline this creates a dynamic, sporty appearance that links the Karl Rocks to the Karl while simultaneously giving it a distinct rugged look.

Sporty exterior, up-market interior

The dynamic new headlamp design together with a completely new, more markedly sporty upper and lower grille set the tone for the design of the new Zafira. The front headlamps melt into the radiator grille to form a graphic unity. The sculptural chrome logo bar blends optically into the headlights enhancing the impression of width. In addition, the typical, precisely chiseled 'Opel double wing' daytime running lights characterize the new light cluster design. The wheels are housed under a muscular wheel arch. All of this gives the new Zafira front a solid, sporty and dynamic appearance.

Ever since its launch in 2012, the Opel Mokka has gone from strength to strength. With its perfect size (4.28 meters long), its sporty look and elevated seating position, the sub-compact SUV appeals to the zeitgeist and has already been ordered over 500,000 times across Europe making it one of the most popular models in its segment. Now the new Opel Mokka X looks to add to this popularity. It will celebrate its world premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and will hit the market in fall 2016 with a fresh iconic exterior design, a new interior and outstanding, new generation infotainment systems making it one of the best-connected all-terrain eye-catchers on the market. Alongside the recently launched new generation 1.6 "whisper diesels", the new Mokka X will also extend its gasoline offer with a new generation 1.4-liter Direct Injection Turbo which will be combined with an automatic transmission, Start/Stop and all-wheel drive.

The Mokka could be labelled as one of the symbols of Opel's successful comeback in recent years. The sub-compact SUV has attracted many new customers to the brand who are attracted by the body style of a SUV combined with a stylish design, a sporty, adventurous flair, and genuine off-road capabilities. The new Mokka X will be the first carline to introduce the segment identifier for future Opel SUV and crossover vehicles with the "X" emphasizing a more adventurous and rugged personality as the one displayed by more traditional body styles.

The Mokka X' new exterior design displays a bold attitude. Its new front look is aligned with Opel's new design including a wing-shaped horizontal front grille and the dominant, sharp double wing signature of the LED daytime running lights. The front fascia also gets more precisely and elegantly sculpted surfaces, with less plastic inserts. This gives the Mokka X a wider, more solid and masculine stance. It is continued at the rear with another double wing signature also features in the tail lamps - optionally available with LED technology. The body side retains its sculpted and elegant traits and sporty edge with muscular and athletic lower body lines, energized by Opel's typical 'blade' that sweeps upwards to the rear. New vibrant colors such as 'Amber Orange' or 'Absolute Red' add to the desirability of the Mokka X.
